There's a first time for everything. Last year while painting the freedom stripes on the left & right side of the front quarter panels, I noticed a few weeks later, that the hood & windshield developed a sand paper type feel. Thus resulting in a light over spray on these area. I join the Mothers community to find out if the clay bar could be used on the windshield as seen here:

    http://www.waxforum.com/showthread.php?t=5385

We finally got around to purchasing that Mothers clay bar kit and with cool mornings, I suspect I'll try this clay treatment tomorrow morning. Just want to clean the windshield and get rid of that sandpaper type feel on the hood. So is there anything I should be aware of before I attempt this tomorrow, other than how best to store the clay afterwards.

    Any helpful tips on this?.

Keep the surface wet, and don't use a lot of pressure.

Seeing how it was a mild/cool 77° this morning I pulled the jeep our and replaced the half door uppers in preparation for the rain over the next few days. Also, my first attempt to remove any over sprays was semi successful as I could feel areas were going to be a bit more difficult and I would need to wait another day to re-attempt this procedure.

Kneading the clay bar wasn't too difficult, but I do not like the spray detailer. When sprayed on the surface, it has a milky haze and was difficult to wipe off once I computed a 2 foot section of the jeep. I may resort to using Jet Black detailer by turtlewax as this has never failed me on any of my projects. Gave the last bottle I had to another jeeper two weeks ago, So i'll need to purchase another bottle next Fri along with a few other cleaning products.

Lastly, it is true one should wash the jeep before using this clay bar kit. At this time I just washed the windshield and hood, but still there will need to be a second or third treatment applied in the near future. I'm pleased with the results so far and its even easy for this old man to handle.

Perhaps a variable speed polisher would speed up the overspray cleanup....just don't get overzealous

I call bar’d a car before. Phenomenal results. Smooth as a baby’s ass and shined like a new penny.
