Couple questions- new Jeep TJ

    Picked up a new used TJ and I was told it needed a new motor. I’m suspect though bc it’s clean as a whistle and doesn’t appear to have been off road.

    The wires have been removed from the plugs- need to know which goes to
    Which.

    Also, there is a block of wires that come from the firewall on the passenger side- maybe attached to the Ecu. There is a solid pink wire that’s been cut- any idea why?

    I’ll be doing a compression test tonight.

    what model year engine trans etc...
    Yes that is the PCM,

    I would TRY the key trick to get codes and maybe we will ID that wire otherwise a search of wiring diagrams....

    It’s a 2008 sport. 4.0/ 5 speed. What’s the key trick?

    Welcome! If the key trick works...great, otherwise some car parts stores like Advance Auto offer free scans or you can invest in one as basic models are not too expensive anymore.
