3.5" suspension lift kit

    Hi guys,

    My son just bought a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 6 cyl. He wants put a set of 31-10.50-15 mud terrain tires on it with steel wheels. He wants it to look good and Not just barely fit the tires. More of a hunting offroad vehicle. Not a rock climber. Driving it to school as well. I was told a rough country lift or a rubicon express lift. What ideas or recommendations might you all have for us. Lift, shocks, tires. Thanks.

    Welcome! Rough Country is a well known brand, although I don't have much experience with it. Is there a budget involved?

    I was looking at the Rough Country lift and the Rubicon Express. I also want new shocks. A 3.5" lift to accommodate 31" mud terrain tires. Budget around $600-$1200

    Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
    Out of those 2, Rubicon all of the way. I have heard a lot of complaints about rough country ride quality and trail reliability. I hear a lot about the good deals people get on rough country lifts. It has been my experience that in life you get what you pay for, and in lift kits I believe that to be especially true.

    Thank you for your advice. Makes sense. I will order me the Rubicon lift with shocks next week.
