Question for everyone, I recently took my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to have the ignition system replaced due to a recall. They had to tow it in to have this fixed. Afterwards they told me that they had to unhook something to tow it but they couldn't reconnect it without using the emergency brake (which is messed up). So now I have can put it in gear without a key and when I drive I hear a whistling sound coming up underneath the shifter like a vacuum leak from trans. My emergency brake is fixed what do I need to reconnect?

You need to get in touch with dealer, the P41 recall should be done by an authorized jeep dealer, - all was fine BEFORE the tow was needed - no problem until the recall SO have them return to previous state.

The vehicle was fine till they disconnected X.

Agreed. Take it back to the Dealer. My first thought. Why did ya have it towed in? Was running at the time?? But yeah....based on your post. Sounds like Ya need to reconnect something.
    Post up your fix.

After the dealer replaced the ignition the first time ,it stuck on me when i stuck and locked up on me at a store.
After they towed it and second ignition was installed is when they hit me with the problem of .They not able to fix the shifting without key until i get E-brake fixed.
I thought i could fix it myself till i read someplace there was a button under cupholder that allows tow truck drivers access to full nutral .

So i guess i should have asked ,
How did they tow it with out any key to get into nutral?

What was undone that causes a vacuum like leak and being able to select any gear without the key now ?
