I have a bad A/C evaporator (leaking) on a 2003 TJ w a 4.0L 5spd. The ends are threaded, NOT push fit with clip on both compressor and evaporator. Apparently this doesn't exist according to parts store but I have it and just found another airbox that had the same setup that is manufactured dated March 1999. My question is anyone know what's going on and how to order new evaporator. 2003 Jeep TJ w/ 4.0L & 5 spd manual.

Do you know if your jeep came with AC? That almost looks like an older chevy AC hookup from the 80s. I wonder if someone installed an aftermarket AC system, or maybe a junkyard version. You might call jeepair.com and see if they can help you.

I just bought the jeep so I'm not sure. I did however find another airbox identical to mine at a jeep used parts place. Just trying to find a new Evaporator now.

I think OFFGRID is on the right track that your a/c may not be OEM. Your choices may be finding an adapter fitting or using the matching evaporator for the system in place.

I think you guys are probably right, I'm guessing most likely a dealer installed A/C system??? I'm just going to replace the whole system with factory correct components to eliminate any future problems as well...
