    I have a 2006 Wrangler. When i purchased it i had Shimmy Issues. An aftermarket heavy duty Steering Stabilizer was put on and never had issues again. Now it is back. The stabilizer is now 10 years old. Should i look for anything else or just replace it. When i hit 55 mph if i do not gun it to get up to 65 mph fast it will shimmy and not stop until i slow down & almost stop. i need this vehicle for work so i need to try to get whatever i need done done tomorrow in the garage. Thanks in advance.

    A new stabilizer will help absorb the vibration, but I would look at the cause of the vibration as well. Sounds like you might have a tire out of balance as well. If it is bad enough the stabilizer won't help.

    A stabilizer is just masking the problem. Tires/wheels are a good place to start but I would also look over the front suspension and steering. It's getting to the age that the whole front end may be due for a rebuild, ball joints, tie rods, hubs, trackbar, and possibly control arms.

    Welcome! Perhaps the problem may not reappear following rebalancing or tire rotation as a simple first step. As mentioned getting the front suspension inspected could reveal some worn components.

    Welcome to the forum @ctmill2273. This is a multiple choice question. Answer is D. All of the above. You feel it in the the steering wheel. Can easily be any thing involving front suspension. Great advice up top. I'd start there.
