I have a 1992 Comanche six cylinder that needs a rebuild. I was told there is a fix to what is causing low oil pressure. Does anyone know the cause of the low oil pressure. One engine builder said he thinks it's a cam bearing problem and a head gasket issue. But he did not know the specifics.

Welcome! Our guess for low oil pressure could be inaccurate until the engine components are inspected or replaced during the rebuild. Check for a TSB for a low oil pressure issue but regardless worn or defective parts will be discovered during the rebuild or perhaps a 4.0 owner may chime in.

Welcome to the forum @Festus. Just my thoughts. If your looking at a complete rebuild. In most cases as far as time is concerned. And it will cost you just about as much cash. Look into a remaned motor. Years ago I cooked my XJ motor and cracked it. Buying a recycled block, parts and man hours to do rebuild. I opted for a Jasper remaned motor which just dropped right in. Back on the road the next day vs a possible 4 - 5 days, if your lucky, for a total rebuild. Plus just like a starter or battery. They give you credit for the core. Just a thought. I put approx. 190k on that Jasper motor.
