What have you done to your JK today?

Notice how they are perfectly matched up. Lol lol. Should have done a DIY thread. Ahh. Been fighting a bug the last couple days. Just happy to get out and wrench on my JK.

 

I agree. Do it once. My regret. Took me 2 times to get it right. Funds were low at the time. Just wanted to fix my JK. Finally fixed it. Had to do it twice. Ok.....wait.....doing her twice.....ain't so bad. Loll. Some times, 2 times works out just fine....

 

Still fightin this pain in the ass bug. But didn't stop me from mess in with my Jeep.
JW Speaker LED headlights and fogs. The headlights wow. Could see drivers in front of me getting pissed. Lolll. Looks like I may have to adjust them. Loll. Haven't ran the fogs yet. But they have an Easy access screw to adjust.
An upgrade I've wanted to do for some time. Sales, thanks @aggrex, and price matching. I made them happen. So sweet.

 

Ok...moving on. Next upgrade. Yeah, been busy this weekend.
Rugged Ridges hood latches. Broke down, bought the shiney black ones. Loll.. The textured black have been out of stock for some time. But I really like these. Easy, quick install. But still a pain in the ass if you've installed these. You know what I mean. I like'em.

 

Nice and hot 56*F today in the tundra today. Washing the JK and putting her to work with construction materials and bi-fold doors clearanced out to $4.24

 

Finally, got my spiderTrax wheel spacers on. Needed a little more room to clear my Metal cloak shocks. Hopefully I can get to the suspension next. Posted pics in media.

 

@Offroad798 ...like the stance! What size SpiderTrax did you choose? Final total backspacing? Any other parts you expect to need for the MC install?

 

I went with the 1.5 back space plus the 4.63 back space on the wheel for 6.13. The whole metal cloak game changer kit is sitting in the garage. I hope there is nothing else needed to install it. We shall see.

Installed Poison spyder Hi-lift jack mount. Pictures in media. I installed two locks for the high lift jack. Did some minor work to get them to fit.

 

I really like that @Offroad798 . Looks good back there.

 

Started to install metalcloak 3.5 game changer lift. Pictures in media, tomorrow starts the real work.

 

@Offroad798 since you are performing a DIY lift in sunny Florida as opposed to our cold winter, for some of the novices (myself included) could you take some pics showing jack stand placement for safe working conditions under a JK, approximate height off the ground and jack stands 6-ton? etc

Which 3.5 MC lift kit did you buy and any additional MC parts needed like spring alignment/retainers or exhaust spacers?

 

aggrex I posted pics in my media. They are 6 ton jack stands. I also put a 2x4 under trailer hitch due to short wheel base. I got lazy and could of used my high lift jack. Wish I had a lift. I placed 4 jacks on the frame rail just short of the control arms so I can let the axles drop after removing sway bars, shocks, track bar and all connectors brake line brackets etc. I will measure the jack height tomorrow. I had to buy the exhaust spacers for this kit and I purchased the rear coil alignment correction/retainer. Everything else came with the kit. Since I had and after market exhaust I didn't need the 4inch rear sway bar drop extension. chris4x4 I will try the build tread.

 

Thanks for the update and looking forward to the build. It's cold up here and working on the concrete floor will only sap the energy even more. So everything just sits until spring

 

I do remember the cold of the North or Mid west.

Agree with aggrex. Workin on any vehicle in the cold sucks. Lookin like 50s this weekend. Rain, but decent temps. I have a few upgrades to make. Nothing like your lift. But we all know how much we love wrenching on our Jeeps. . Look forward to your posts.
