DIY Wheel Spacer Installation

    Best to choose a quality wheel spacer and install it correctly.

    SPIDERTRAX
    • bolt-on design, no cutting or mods
    • factory matched wheel studs
    • anodized 6061T6 aluminum alloy
    • precision wheel and hub centric fit
    5-step:
    • remove drum/rotor retainer clips and clean hub surface
    • thread locker
    • install wheel spacers
    • torque wheel spacer lug nuts 90 ft-lb
    • install wheels torque to 80-90 ft-lb

    Nice....Very nice DIY post @aggrex. Still considering spacers. Your post helps a great deal. Nice dude. :thumbsup:. What width are you running? I know several members are using them. I'm still not ready to pull on them. Don't feel like rebuilding my garage at this point. Loll. Would rather build my Jeep. :). Life is good.......with a jeep.

    Not sure you need wheel spacers since you're running aftermarket wheels. I like the OEM style wheels except for the backspacing so until I have spare change the SpiderTrax will reduce 6.25-1.5=4.75

    Great write up!!

    I'll add that with larger/heavier wheels I've found it best to increase the torque spec closer to 120. At the stock spec and 315s I experienced loosening, even with red loctite. The new one with 37s we increased the torque and haven't had any issues.

    The factory service manual is more generous (and vague, LOL) on torque than the owners manual and users guide. (85-125 ft-lbs)

    After install you can set your torque wrench 5 pounds shy to check them, that way you're not breaking the loctite.
