I'm gonna use it more for on road but would need to off road when hunting or camping. A little wider is fine I like that beefy tough look. The axles from the 84 went in my 79 now I want to do the 84

Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
1974-1979 waggi axles work because they have the passenger drop, and they are only 60in wide. 84 CJ7 was 56in wide stock(widetrack). The 1972 Cherokee also has the passenger drop 60in axles. You will have to outboard your springs. Will be easier to find another set of widetrack axles on CL and bolt them right in. I really like the AMC20 widetrack axle with 1piece axle shafts. It has a stronger ring and pinion than a dana 44.

Here is my 1979 CJ7 with built widetrack axles from a 1985 CJ, AMC20 and Dana 30. Shown is a pic of the AMC 20 with 1piece axles welded tubes and trussed. Running 37s and the only issue I have had was an exploded OEM hub. Installed MM stainless hubs.20150929_181201.jpg
