A/C quits blowing while accelerating

    I everyone! I'm new to the forum, and new to my jeep. Here's the stats for it.

    96 Cherokee Country. 4.0 HO in line 6. 312,000 miles, and runs great.

    I charged the A/C a couple of weeks ago, and I have cold air, but I noticed that when under power (climbing a rise, or accelerating), it quits blowing in the cab. Just that, I can hear the blower motor, but no air from the vents.

    It's like the divirter or something redirects the air flow. I'm sure it's a vacuum leak to an actuator or something like that, right?

    Where should I look first?

    Welcome! I've heard of this happening in the past, but never found an answer. We have some smart folks on here, so hopefully a couple can post some help.

    Yeah, that vacuum line above was the culprit. Looks like it got burned somehow, and I was losing vacuum. Hence the diverter (or whatever it's called) was preventing the blown air from being sent into the cab during acceleration.

    As I didn't have the time or inclination of replacing that line from the manifold to the coupling, I just slapped a little JB Weld Quick into the hole. Worked great, and now I have cold air blowing ALL the time.

    Hey, don't holler at me for the quick fix, it worked. :)

    Good to hear!! I probably would have used electrical tape until I could find the hose to replace it with

    Oh, you'll notice I will always post great pictures when they apply, and I always post followups. Glad to be a member here. I was a long time member at the Ford Trucks forum.
