Ok so being a new owner of a 2010 unlimited I have finally got to the point where I want to hoist the top off and got and electric hoist but can't seem to find a way to lift the top level. It's either front or back heavy. Anyone have any ideas or made there own single point hoist like I had planned to? Looking to improve my idea and need reference pictures or design ideas. Don't wanna invest a lot more than I have already and want to be able to remove the top solo. Can anyone help me? Or does anyone have ideas to improve it?

Use a counter weight super cheap at gym stores. You can get the flat ones that are added to work out machines. Just add a 10 pound weight it 20 pounder. Put it on the side that is lighter use liquid weld or bolt it on.

This is just s thought on how to balance it.

Is a single point the way to go or would a 4 point life be better. Right now I have the hoist in the attic and just have 1 line run down. To 2 toe straps that are run through the top from between the back window and the top and the straight threw under the top and around the front side. The straps come back to meet at the single lift point on the hoist. I been seeing a lot of ppl online doing just 4 eyehook lags in the studs and then just using pull straps to lift it even to the rafters and it seems to hold nice and even. Would that be the better way to go and just ditch the single point electric hoist?
