Leaks after rain

hello,
I just purchased a 2013 jeep wrangler sport and am having leaks on the floor, both the driver and passenger sides, after rain. Any suggestions? Also I live in Hull, MA and am looking for beach and off road trails. Thanx in advance

 

Welcome to jeep life? You might be able to decrease the leaks some, but it always seems like a little water finds its way in.

There are many postings on various forums about fixing leaks. They're helpful. Most door leaks can be solved by adjusting the door fit and pressure on the door weatherstrip. Someone have added closed cell tube type weatherstrip to the pillar and rocker panel area.

 

Might want to spend some time simulating a rain shower with a hose while you or someone is in the JK searching for the elusive leak(s). Discoveries could be as simple as misaligned doors, windows, missing/broken trim or gaskets, etc. In the mean time consider removing the carpets to avoid mildew issues until the problem is fixed and open the drain holes to allow the water to drain.

Just a note about the members here. And I will post this again. I owned a 2000 XJ Cherokee for 14 years. And I have learned more about my Wrangler in the last 6 weeks or so, since I joined this site, than I ever knew about my XJ. With that being said. These guys have also cost me ahellva lot of money. Lol.. The members here are a great bunch jeepers.

 

my 00 sport had rotted floors. leak was air intake under cowl by wiper moter.water leaked around the air duct on pass side. hard to get to unless you open a hole under the cowl cover or on the fire wall.
its hard to get at it. after much work i am bone dry in a downpour.

 

I fixed the leak at the front door pillar/windshield transition angle. Noticed the leak a few weeks ago and saw a youtube video from someone who did the same fix. I used Duck brand weatherstrip, UPC #075353080245. It comes in a double ribbon. Don't cut the two halves. Leave as one double strip and stick in place. Before applying weatherstrip, clean the jeep metal and rubber surfaces with acetone. So far so good: been through two 24 hr. rains with heavy rains, and no leaks, completely dry inside. The door still closes easily.

 

pull up pass carpet , then run a hose into the air intake cowl. see if it runs in the pass side like my 00 .
i assume you did the hose test on the doors huh?
