    Hi,

I'm a new member and hoping somebody can help me out. I have an 83 CJ7 that I am building into a rock crawler. I bought a new used tub because mine was beyond rusted out. The problem is the old tub had an inner skin where the door latch mechanisms mounted. The new tub that I bought only has a single skin so the original mounting position isn't possible. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this part is sold through any parts suppliers or am I stuck with trying to salvage the old ones off the old tub?

I forgot to mention this is a hardtop with steel doors.

Sounds like your old tub is an 82 or newer tub, and new tub might actually be an older tub. Pre80s tubs have different door latches. They latch more like your door in your home. You will need to find older doors. I'll try to remember to get some pictures of my 79 doors and how they latched posted. I love my handles. They give a total old school look.

Ok thanks for the info. Can a guy cut out the inner skin from the old tub and weld them into the new tub? Thanks again for the help
