I am trying to remove these items from 87 XJ but watching videos nothing for an XJ looked like what I am seeing under my hood and I started watching other Jeep video on removing these items until I found this video for a Grand Cherokee 83-88 yesterday.

This video the layout is exactly like mine but then he is talking about loosening two slide bolts under the pump and this is what is on mine.

Does anyone know how this is suppose to work to get play in the belt to remove it?

I got it off days ago, the issue was the adjuster under the pump was not moving the pump I took some brake cleaner and soaked it down and it started working here and there, I must of cranked on that for 3 or 4 minutes before I got any noticeable play or movement in the pump. My pump is bad the seal in the back was leaking and the one around the shaft also when I turned the shaft by hand it is gritty so it is need of replacing but the resevior is good and the only seller on Amazon that sells new pumps is out stock until September so I have moved on to other things for now.

    Thanks
