    Hello, All!
    Up until 1990, I drove British sports cars. But after returning to the Pacific NW after 22 year in other parts of the country, I realized the i did not looking at spray and hubcaps on rainy days, so i bought my first Jeep, a pristine '67 Wagoneer. The first time I backed out into a street with 10 inches of unbroken snow, slipped the lever into 4WD and touched the accelerator, I knew from that moment I would always own a Jeep!
    Since then, I have owned:
    '63 Willy's flat-fender, 1-ton pickup with Chevy 250 I-6, NP205, Dana T-18, and Timkin LSD 3.08
    '79 Cherokee 2-dr, 4.0L, 5-speed, bone stock. Possibly my favorite!
    '72 Commando, 304 V-8, auto, bone stock. Hard-top
    '73 Commando, 258 I-6, 3-spd stick, hard top/bikini in the summer, another favorite!
    '76 J-10, 258 I-6, auto, bone stock
    '2002 Wrangler, 258 I-6, 5-spd, soft top
    '79 Cherokee Chief wide-track 2-dr, 258 I-6, auto
    I now own a 2008 Commander, 3.7L. Nice rig, but I wish it had the 4.7L or 5.7L!
    Looking at buying an '89 Wrangler 4.2L, 5-spd soft top tomorrow morning.
    I wish I could have kept every Jeep in that list, some more than others for practical reasons. In spite of what haters write, I have found them to be extremely reliable and have never been left sitting on the side of the road by any of them. I follow my father's advice (a master mechanic), always do your own maintenance and tuning! But with tuning, K&N intakes, and a bit of exhaust work, I have been able to get at least 20 mpg out of every I-6 in the list. The fuel mileage of the 3.7L Ccommander is a dissappointment. The rig is too heavy for that motor, IMHO.

    Welcome from texas. I’ve had a couple of the jeeps you listed. My all time favorite was the 1979 2 door Cherokee Chief! Mine was a manual transmission. I damn sure wish I had it now too.
