Hi! So I'm brand new to the forum but hope maybe someone could help me with a problem I encountered installing a Barricade body armor roofrack.

While tightening the bolts next to my passenger door, it seems I busted the threaded bracket inside the panel by my front windshield. I'm not sure if this is a common thing in the Jeep world but my repair shop said they weren't familiar with this type of damage and thought it may take a couple of thousand to fix because of labor, etc. Do you know of any threaded anchor or something that can simply be inserted into the hole where the bracket is busted?

I've attached an image of where the damage is.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

I’ve used rivet nuts on lighter duty holes on other projects but went to pre-bulged shank type for more security. Not sure you have the room for them but if it’s just one damaged hole they could do the trick. E37A391B-05E7-47AA-BBD3-647D5F15FDA1.jpg

with Barricade products or any of them don’t tighten any fasteners until all are turned in some otherwise the bolt-on kits tends to tear out and damage threads

Thanks for the info. Based on the image, it looks like I would have to remove at least a couple of panels in order to use it. Do you know of anything I could insert into the hole without having to get behind the panel? That's the part I'm most unsure of.

A buddy of mine mentioned using a time-sert thread repair kit if I found the right size. Do you think that could also work? The hole is 8 mm x 1 inch, so not very big

I've had success repairing a threaded hole with one of these instead of a heli-coil. They are available in different sizes on Amazon

E-Z Lok Externally Threaded Insert, C12L14 Carbon Steel, Meets AISI 12L14, M6-1.0 Internal Threads, M10x1.5 External Threads, 10.49mm Length

IMO for a roof rack system they need to be secured to be safe so use these thread repair kits wisely and hopefully there is only one damaged hole
