My Jeep is a 2011 that is a winter project on jack stands in my garage. Today was a cold day, and a day to tidy up the garage after a couple months of work. I decided it would be fun to see if I could get the doors off, as I'm not sure they have ever been off and I hope to use the Jeep doorless this summer. It was a bit of struggle, but they came off. Inside the steel sleeves of each hinge was a thin plastic sleeve that had become crumpled up in there and made the removal difficult. See the photos. These can't be reused, but I'm wondering if they are needed? I slid the door pins back in the hinge to see if it worked ok, and it seemed to work great without the plastic liners in there. Does anyone know whether I should replace these parts, or are they unecessary? thanks.Jeep Doors 1.jpg Jeep Doors 3.jpg Jeep Doors 2.jpg

I have had both JK's, one a 2008 and the other a 2013. Its been roughly 8 years I've owned one. Since neither were new when I bought them, they both didn't have any of those in mine. It was straight door pin inside bare cylinders like yours. Never had to grease them or anything. They've never made any noise. I think if you decide not to purchase them, you'd be fine. Like I said, I've had 2 Jeeps with no issues without them. Just my 2 cents.

I bought these Delrin liners several years ago. They have made door removal easier and work nice. Check them out. F33A6AF9-9384-48AA-AC34-7C470583B0C0.jpg

Replaced mine too with what @aggrex suggested. No issues at all with them.
