    Changed to efi
Alright long story short, I have an 88 Jeep Wrangler(straight 6). The engine in it has been crap and filled with problems, so I am thinking about saving up for a v8. My idea was a 350 chevy small block, but should I keep it efi or go back to carburetor? Also open to other engine suggestions.
Edit- Well I definitely want to take it mudding/ general offroading once its reliable.
Guess ill throw one more question in. Should I get a new transmission along with the new engine? Because what I have now is the stock with about 147,000 miles on it.

Carb is easier to install, FI gets better mpg, power, works better on inclines.

    Yes a 350 add a super charger, 42" wheels and a 10" lift !!

This will be so much easier for you than a stock 1988 6 cylinder .

Lots of people run the 350 commonly usually with a carb I didn't though instead I built a 4.7 stroker using a 86 block and the original heads off my 93 but switched to roller rockers and different cams also added a riser and updated fule rail to the efi did it for about 800 wich is a fraction of the cost of buying one for 3 k or more depending on the goodies
