There were some shavings in the bottom of the pan. The magnet was covered in black silverish guck. Here's a pic of the transmission filter. Overall what do you guys think?

Here is the new pan with the drain plug and a new rubber gasket.PHOTO_20191105_125043.jpg PHOTO_20191105_130423.jpg

I have hi temp RTV silicone. Do I need to add a layer of it under or on the new gasket? Or do I even need it at all?PHOTO_20191105_130529.jpg

About to add 5 quarts of ATF +4 fluid and a quart of Lucas transmission fix or another quart of ATF+4, depending on how it shifts after. Totaling 6 quarts for pan drain.

Generally some metal shaving or black-silver muck on the magnet is ok due to wear and mileage of the vehicle. Follow the specified bolt tightening pattern and don't over tighten the bolts. Refer to manual for refill capacity for a drain. Check hot trans fluid level on level surface.

So when I'm working with these exhaust adapters, am I supposed to get a quarter inch bigger than the exhaust pipe to slide over the original exhaust pipe or a quarter inch smaller to slide in the exhaust pipe?

Hey this is the transmission section...lol

The adapters are available in different combinations of I.D. and O.D. Generally choose whatever adapter works best for your application. It will never be as smooth as one-piece pipe but you got to do with what you have.
