I have a 2001 TJ that just started popping a "nofuse" error on the odometer. I have rung out all the fuses ( hood and behind the glove box ), checked as much of the wiring harness as possible, pulled all the bulbs out of the dome, cabin and hood lights, disconnected the radio and still get the error. She starts and runs great. I'm stuck. Battery dying? Any ideas?
    Thanks...

Welcome @TJ4me ...try disconnecting battery for a few minutes? Scan for codes?

welcome to the forum - enjoy the camaraderie - hope we can help :jeepwave:

OK did you check OR just look at the fuses?
Any recent work done esp ELECTRICAL - anything plugged into outlets (lighter cigar) - double check #15 in PDC.

Also check* IOD fuse in diagram advise

    do not look check fuses!!

    Hi-
    Thanks for the reply!
I used a multi-meter to test the fuses including the IOD fuse. I tried a spare IOD fuse just for the heck of it...
What is number 3 in your diagram above?

    Ugh...
I disconnected the off-road lighting. Then disconnected the battery for a reset. I can’t do a scan because that circuit is tied into the problem circuit. I don’t have an IOD storage fuse socket.
    Thanks for all the ideas!
    Really appreciate the help!
I just bought a circuit tester light. I thought I would start ringing out each circuit to see what happens.
    I’ll let you know...
Any thoughts that it might be the battery?

    I'm confused ---happens alot ---
    Why can't you scan?
which circuit is the problem circuit?
    Stop removing battery needlessly.

Could be an unrelated issue, but there is no power at the connector when I attempt to scan.
The problem circuit is the IOD. The gauges, radio, interior and under hood lights are all affected.

no coffee yet = no fuel But my 1st thought ...IOD fuse is good (meter confirmed) I suspect then an open in circuit... And there is a memory synapse something in memory trying to open...

Did you check your Cigar lighter - is that getting 12v?

Thanks for sticking with me on this.
Yes. I get 12 volts at the cigarette lighter. But I think it is a different circuit than the IOD circuit because it is switched through the ignition...
I'm thinking it has to be an open in the harness someplace. I'll start tracing it out this weekend when I have some time...
    Thoughts?

    Problem solved!!!
I disconnected the positive battery lead from the fuse box under the hood. Then, I removed the bottom case from the fuse box and started checking the wires relating to the IOD circuit. Specifically, the pink wire with white stripe. They looked good. However, I found the wire was burnt about six inches away from the fuse box just as it entered the harness wrapping down beside the battery.
I cleaned up the wire and butt-spliced it together. Everything is working again!
Thank you, everyone for your help!

I am confused - weekends do that - BBQ, Bourbon, FOOTBALL!! and we spotted a brood of turkey on corner of property!! SO not today but will help if you reply

Electrical come easy to me - do a lot of troubleshooting at shop.

What leads you to focus on IOD fuse and circuit?
    What are symptoms -

I focused on the IOD circuit because of the "Nofuse" error I was getting on the odometer. Also, the interior lights and the radio would not work.
The IOD fuse was good, so I knew it had to be an open somewhere.Luckily, I found a burnt wire below the fuse box under the hood. I repaired it and it did the trick!
    Thanks for your help!

Thanks for reporting back with your resolution. It seems many don't and when someone starts searching they find that others have had their problem but nobody posted if it got fixed and what the issue was.

    No permanent rig...Just a handheld...
I'd be interested in what you are using for an antenna and mount...

Good find, but why did it burn?

The previous owner attached a set of off road lights ( non-fused ) to the IOD circuit.
It must have drawn too much current when I turned them on and burnt the wire.
I put an "add a circuit" on an existing circuit so it won't happen again...
