My oil pressure isn't at the right level in idle or in drive. Pressure should read 40 PSI and mine is running about 20 to 30 psi. I ran the engine warm and shut off the engine and checked the fluid level... The oil on the dipstick seem to have missed the bottom half and jumped to the middle of the stick. Leaves me confused if either I have too much or not enough or empty ...PHOTO_20190908_134323.jpg PHOTO_20190908_134333.jpg

I cant help with reading dip stick - should be intuitive - wipe clean to start then replace with eng off.

A dash gauge is notoriously inaccurate, be sure correct oil weight and level and Correct filter. A mechanical gauge is often used to confirm true oil pressure.

Let the engine cool and settle down on level surface then take another dip stick reading or two.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to figure out just how the dipstick reads and how to read it. Sometimes its not a simple operation. I like to figure it out by draining and filling the oil to the specified amount with filter addition, start it up for a bit, and see where the mark is on the stick. Its a good thing to be able to compare a mechanical oil pressure gauge reading with the oem gauge to see just where it is. The mechanical gauge does not need a permanent location in the vehicle, just have one to compare. On my CJ, I have replaced both the gauge and sender and still get around 20 lbs and considerably higher with the Autometer mechanical gauge.

I know that it ticks when I start it up, but the ticking goes away after that. I'm going to add in a quart and see what that does... Because I just checked it again and there's nothing on the dipstick

I only get paid every Friday and my card is lost with my money on it. The status of the wheel isnt going to change until I post it... I plan on having it done this Friday or this weekend when I get paid but I have to wait 10 days for a new card so it may be longer than that, but when I do I will post it. I'm trying to tackle whatever I can and right now the wheel is not it.

I was checking the engine for oil leaks this morning and I found this isn't this the oil pressure sending unit on the passenger side next to the distributor ?
