First Jeep, 03 TJ 2.4 5sp. Have had lots of cars, trucks and MC but first Jeep. Rented last yr in Moab and had fun. Needed something to tow behind the RV and a Jeep fit the bill. Owned it for a week and doing some small stuff, cleaning up some wiring and adding USB's , volt meter and small lights. New front bumper and winch next week.

Custom hoop on the TJ looks like a great starting point

Barricade Trail Force, seems OK, had to do a little grinding to line up the bottom holes.

Yea that's what brand of bumpers I got. They're Chinese but I've bashed mine off of a couple trees and they've held up pretty well so far. I had to drill new holes in mine so I could get the bolts to go in. Other than that I'm happy with them

I was thinking about welding a plate under the winch mount to give a little more backbone but still winch shopping.

Like the extra steel plate to bolster the bumper for the winch. Barricade bumpers look great but I would suggest preemptive rust preventative paint on the inner welds of the bumper.

Like your style, Looks a bit like mine.

I'm also looking for winch to get in next year or so. Anyone have recommendations? Minimum load pounds(10k? 12k?) to be able to pull a 4door out of a jam if needed?

JKBob 25 and OFFGRID like this.
