My 2010 won't go over 10 miles an hr. When it does, the drive disengages. No reverse????

Welcome! Great username. I don't have an answer to your issue (sounds like tranny)...someone smarter than myself will hopefully give their 2 cents on it.

this is a 2010 wrangler- 3.8 eng and a 42RLE trans - can you confirm?

    As mentioned check for codes...
If you have a trans dipstick* - Have you checked trans fluid?

    * no trans dipstick- read owners manual for ideas

Welcome! How long has the problem been going on? Any unusual off-road trips with memorable impacts? Any prior signs of transmission issues?

It sounds like it might be a sensor bad but that should throw a code. If there isn’t a code it might be a pressure problem. Check the fluid and if it’s not low does it smell burnt?

Welcome to forum @Blackjeep of family . Yeah....love your avatar name. Awesome advice given up top. But yeah...I'd start with a fluid check, and work from there.

3.8's and everything attached to them should be used for a boat anchor... they suck. I'm going thru the same shit. The torque converter in mine is going out. It is what it is. When the whole thing blows I'm just gonna pay the money to swap a diesel and 5 speed transmission in it and be done with the damn thing.

Cummins came out with a crate 2L for the tj, I asked when I saw them at the overland expo this year and that said they are working on a crate for the jk.

That's what I'm talking about. Turbo charged as well I imagine? That'd be the only way to go if I'm gonna pony up the dough and do it might as do it right
