My dipstick tube broke when I pulled my 258 to rebuild it, and now it is spewing oil all over the place and on the front drive shaft and starter motor when it runs, but I cant find a new one. I've heard around that they don't make them anymore, so I'm wondering what I can do as a replacement. Any suggestions?

Resto-mod/build in progress: currently have new refurbished frame, rebuilt GM350 engine, rebuilt TH350 trans, NP205 TC, new paint job inside and out.
Try bulltear.com. I'm not sure if they stock one for the 258 six cylinder. I just got one for a 304 V8.

That really sucks when your dipstick tube breaks. Not sure but you may be on the wrong site. But could try tying a knot in it.
