Manual Windows?

Based on what I read, people who buy a jeep want either automatic transmission and power windows or manual transmission and manual windows. What about a Wrangler Sport 2017, two doors, that has automatic transmission and manual windows. Would this one have a lower resale value?

 

This is a weird situation. Power options (toys I call them) usually increase the vehicle resale. Unfortunately, some jeeps only come with power options and not manual options especially higher end vehicles. Most of the jeepers I met who off road more prefer not to have power toys. Lot of people take the doors and tops off. This exposes all the equipment to the elements. I can tell you from experience working as an auto tech that in my 20+ years I have replaced lots of power window regulators, pwr mirrors and door locks etc. Can only recall ever doing one manual window regulator. As far as auto vs manual its a preference to the driver. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Everyone has opinions but it comes down to what you like to drive. I would say in my opinion that autos require less driver input then a manual. Ive always loved manuals but I have had autos too. Something to consider is if you drive on the road lot autos are more easier to use in stop and go traffic and hills. The more options (power) does increase value but you pay more for it. Yeah, imo, I love the simplicity of the "basic" jeeps. Manual windows, less wiring and fancy electronics - which are less fragile and less likely to break if you run topless or doorless or off road. Less clutter on the dash and steering wheel too.

Manual is a much more involved driving experience where auto lets you just relax. I grew up dirt biking so I love the heavy involvement in shifting and whatnot. But its not everyone's cup of tea. Definitely personal preference on all these things. Just throwing out my two cents.

And, I guess for me, I didn't buy my JK to sell it off at some point. I bought it to run it into the ground. So resale isn't usually a focus for some jeep drivers. But hopefully I've been helpful in some way anyways. Haha

Even though I don't think I answered your question....

As far as an automatic two door with manual windows, I think it could be appealing for the ppl who want to run doorless, easier to take on and off. And usually for selling a jeep, its a seller's market, there's usually going to be someone interested in what you're selling.

Had a guy literally rubberneck around his blind spots to check out chi today, almost had his cigarette drop from his mouth when his jaw dropped on sight. Lmao. Smiled the whole way home after that. Lol

 

No PW may affect resale interest a bit for some customers but Jeep doors come off easily for no door-days or upgrading to new set of doors with PW. If I found a YJ or TJ jeep in excellent condition no PW doors would not be an issue.

 

Had my XJ for 14 years. I loved it. When I picked up my JK. Honestly..I was kinda disappointed it didn't have power windows and doors locks. And after a couple days I'm right there. I love the simplicity of it. No "toys", and I'm good with it. Love taking the doors off. And just pulling a plug.
