Clicking noises after replacing Radiator and overheating

Hello. Today I just installed a new radiator and everything was going great and had no issues at operating temp. I drove off and started heading some clicking noises and it on my happens when i accelerate. Then it started over heating and it's coming from the engine this time and not the radiator or hoses. Maybe some fluid got over there from spraying and it's burning off? But it still over heated. I got a new thermostat and I'm replacing that tomorrow after it cools off. Thoughts on the clicking?

 

See I thought that too, but I checked and there's nothing the fans hitting

Don't mean to point out the obvious. But I'd pop the hood and hit the accelerator and see if it happens then.

Jkbob, I have and only happens when I'm in gear and accelerating. I'm putting in the thermostat tomorrow and also trying to get out any bubbles that could be in there

 

That's cool. But the bubbles and the thermostat wouldn't cause the clicking. I feel the same way Chris4x4 does. Sounds like the fan is hitting some thing or a loose wire hitting some thing. Is it possible you have a broken motor mount. When you accelerate, it would cause your motor to lean to one side and possibly cause some thing to hit it shouldn't. Just a thought.

So I found out what it was and it's one of those things that make you feel really stupid lol. After I put coolant in the reservoir I forgot to put some in the radiator itself.... yup I did that and everything went fine. Right now I'm attempting to flush out this crap in there that stinks really bad. I should be draining it tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys

 

Good that you found the problem. Hope you did not cause other issues with the over heating. Top up the radiator, thermostat installed correctly and make sure to clear any air pockets

 

So far so good, my check engine light stayed on for a while and now its finally off! However, My jeep is spuddering and hesitating after I break ans start giving it gas. Like it wants to die, but it won't. Never done that before. Could that be air pockets/bubbles?

 

Spuddering/hesitation not likely related to air pockets/bubbles

 

Agreed. The first quickest cheapest fix. Try changing your fuel filter. As aggrex stated. Spuddering/hesitation should have nothing to do with your cooling system. It's usually related to a fuel system issue.

 

Right on. Right now I just put in a fuel injector cleaner. Gumout Regane fuel system cleaner and also added some tranny fluid cause I noticed I was low. I'm leaking somewhere and not sure where yet. I'm hoping I didn't screw anything up in the process of replacing my radiator.
