    Hello Guys.
I.m a newbie here. seems like a good group .
I am looking for a part, that has been hard to run down.
Jeep is no help with it. the plastic bushing that goes
in the end of automatic transmission shift cable,
I looked at drilling the peg on shift arm on trans out.
but my luck it would cause more problems,
things don't seem to be that easy for me.
wondering if any of u guys has had this problem, and
    where you found the bushings,,
    Thx Guys,
    Randy

I would try a local NAPA parts. They always seem to have those silly little parts.

Once again. A member here goes out of their way to help another member that a major retailer feels they don't have the time to research.

IM putting this out there. And I don't mean to hijack the thread. But, I'm nominating Chris4x4 as this sites MVP for the year. He has spent numerous hours, or minutes. Doesn't really matter. He still spent the time to do the research. Not mention. Used his own money to help out a fellow member with an issue he had with a lighting install.

My vote for site MVP. Chris4x4.

And from what I hear. Has great legs and likes to crawl around strange Jeeps. And has an awesome Ummm. Package. :anonymous:

Sorry Randy. Got a little off track. Welcome to the forum. As you can see. We're a good bunch of jeeperz. Hopen you hang around.

Quick question. You do mean the transmission cable right. Usually it is the transfercase cable plastic bushing that breaks. Is it the same bushing I believe they are the same bushing. I believe that it is the same bushing that they use in most of the Chrysler cars. Watch this video on youtube and see. with some work you can drill out the lever and then bolt the linkage to it using a spacer inside the linkage to keep it from pinching and binding and then you'll never worry about it breaking again.

I bet the one Chris found might work too. Only one way to find out.

Once again. OFFGRID shows up and hits it for a game winner. Or at least a game tied up. He likes to hide in waiting like Panther waiting to pounce. AND STRIKES, just when the time is right. And in most cases. He was probably enjoying a quicky with a burger, a trail, or umm, well.... I hate to speculate. Well...doesn't matter. Points out another fix we may have missed or forgot.

Our DH Hitter come thru again. Second nomintation for MVP. OFFGRID.

DO NOT...AND I REPEAT MYSELF. DO NOT BLAME ME FOR THIS. This is not my fault. I found you guys. You did not find me. I just, well maybe, stepped in to help you misguided jeeperz. But I am in no way taking responsibility for you guys. You guys needed help, medications, long before I met you all.

I'm innocent. Not my fault. :anonymous: :lalala::cheers:

Oops. Misread the post. Off to bed...again. Lolll.

well I been looking for 4 days. trying to find that little bushing that goes in the end of the shift cable.
connecting cable to transmission. with no luck, Chrysler Dodge Jeep, had the complete cable $151.90
so tomorrow guess it try to take the console out on my jeep, to remove the old cable,
and install the new cable. looks like might have to drop the front drive shaft. to gain a lil room
to work around the shifter on side of tranny. or look at dropping the cross member.
    any pointers here???????????????????

Did you watch the video I posted and see the link I posted on Amazon for the bushing I believe should work? If your in a pinch. Take the bushing off the Tcase and slip it on the tranny. That will get you driving at least.
