On my first use I was able to get the threads started but unable to tighten down the hose. I thought it was my very limited access and (this being my first use of the gauge), and me not knowing what size wrench was required to fix the hex on the engine-side of the hose. After wasting 15 minutes I pulled the gauge back out to find that the hex (see picture) was 11.4mm. This can only be the result of poor manufacturing. it also means that no standard tubing wrench or open end wrench can be used to tighten the hose ... 11mm / 12mm / 7/16" / 1/2" all useless. so if you don't have access to use an adjustable-end wrench, vice grips or similar you could be in trouble.
I contacted the company explained the problem and asked for a replacement hose. At first they did not want to help me, but after some discussion have refunded my purchase as they could not send a replacement hose, and they are temporarily out of inventory ... so on balance ... I give it 3-stars.
